Brenda Shepard, Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Brenda Shepard, a former Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of TelAlaska, assumed CEO responsibility in June of 2008 with the stock purchase of the company by American Broadband Communications LLC (ABB). She brings some 30 years experience in Alaska telecommunications to the position, having worked in Finance, Accounting, and Regulatory for ASTAC, an Anchorage-based cooperative telephone company serving the North Slope, and earlier in her career at OTZ Telephone Cooperative, headquartered in Kotzebue. She understands the unique demographic and geographic challenges of providing services to the many diverse areas of Alaska. Brenda holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Phoenix and serves on the board of the Alaska Telephone Association (ATA).

David J. Goggins, Vice-President Operations

Dave Goggins is responsible for managing the operations of TelAlaska's NetWorks advanced data division, and the company's 25 telephone central offices, three CATV Headends, 25 Outside Plant facilities and technicians and construction employees for four subsidiaries. He is also responsible for the company's technical and safety training standards, developing department budgets and coordinating work between Operations and the organization. A TelAlaska employee for more than 25 years, Dave has worked in all of TelAlaska's communities and thoroughly understands the company's operations in those culturally diverse and geographically challenging areas of the state. He has served on the Western Telecommunications Alliance (WTA) executive board and committees for the Alaska Telephone Association (ATA).

Brett Carter, Vice-President Finance

Brett Carter has been with the company since 1991, serving in Finance roles of increasing responsibility. Prior to joining the company as a fulltime employee, he was a summer telecom technician gaining field experience. Brett holds a master’s degree in business administration from Alaska Pacific University and a bachelor of science degree in business administration and finance from Northern Arizona University. He is a Trustee for the TelAlaska Profit Sharing Plan and a member of the Separations and Access Committee of OPASTCO, a national telecommunications trade association.
