TelAlaska does not sell DSL modems to their customers. Because of the rapid changes in technology, we lease the equipment to our customers. This way, when new technology arrives you're free to upgrade to the latest and greatest hardware. In addition, modem types and provisions are dependent on the telephone companies central office equipment.
Mbps = Megabits per second; when used to describe data transfers, it refers to one million bits
Kbps = Kilobits per second; data transfer rates are measured in kilobites per second, and count a kilo as 1,000 bits
Gigabyte = One thousand million bytes
