ARCTIC.NET/SEWARD.NET EMAIL MIGRATION
Dear TelAlaska Internet Customer,
Please call TelAlaska before Friday, July 30 to obtain a new password to access your E-mail!
You will need this password to access your arctic.net or seward.net e-mail account after August 2, following an upgrade to the TelAlaska e-mail platform. Our engineers experienced technical problems in a July 11th effort to implement this transition to improved service; therefore, this is a second notice of change.
After receiving your unique password, you will be able to change it to a password of your choice after Aug. 2nd.
There are two numbers you can call: either our 24X7 Help Desk at 1-888-570-1792 or Customer Service, 1-888-478-3127, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday-Friday.
If you know your billing account number, the process will be quickest; however, it is not required.
| • | Some customers will need to enable a SMTP authentication on their e-mail client (Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird, Windows Mail etc.) Instructions for doing so vary with the client and can be obtained now at http://help.arctic.net. Or, you can phone the Help Desk at 888-570-1792. Most email clients are already enabled; however, by going through the process you can be sure of a smooth transition. |
Service will be interrupted from 12-noon Sunday, Aug. 1 until 8 a.m. Monday, Aug. 2 during the transition process. By obtaining your password now, you will be back in business immediately after the transition is complete. Regrettably, there is no alternative to this method of reassignment of passwords.
There are many benefits to the new email server, including an increased mailbox size (100MB) and improved spam and malware protection. Webmail users will now have the ability to control their layout and have access to new features such as a Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, Notes, Instant Messaging, and much more!
Please call in today! Thank you for your cooperation.
