    Update for February 5, 2018
The following channels are now available: BBC America, Boomerang, CNN en Espanol, CNN International, Disney Junior, Disney XD and Recipe TV. There is now only one remaining channel to add (truTV); we will post here when it’s available. Thanks again for your patience.

    Update for February 2, 2018
Eyecom has experienced some technical challenges in delivering the 23 new channels. Some channels have been turned up and we will continue to add more channels as we work through these issues. The following channels are now available: AWE, Fox Deportes, Fox News Channel, Fox Sports 1, NBC Sports, NFL Network, One America News, Turner Classic Movies, WE, CNBC, CNBC World, MSNBC, IFC, My Destination TV and Sundance. A reminder that you will need to have a converter box to see these new channels. Please call 581-1399 to make arrangements. We apologize for the inconvenience and we thank you for your patience.

    Update for January 30, 2018
Eyecom Cable is in the process of adding the 23 new channels to your new digital cable television line-up. The new programming is only available via a converter box. Beginning March 1st the old analog system will be taken down and all televisions must have a converter box to receive any programming. If you have not yet picked up your box(es) please call us at 1-800-478-3127 to make arrangements.

Please also note that many of the networks will have a different channel number on the new digital TV platform. As Eyecom works to finalize aspects of the new digital system, some channel placements will change temporarily. Please consult the guide on your converter box as it will always remain up-to-date. We thank you for your business and we hope you enjoy the new line-up!

    **************************************************

Eyecom Cable is pleased to share with our Unalaska/Dutch Harbor customers news of the completion of a major upgrade to your cable television services. Over the past year we have been working to replace our analog system with a new and improved digital system. This major infrastructure upgrade means you will now receive a clearer picture, enhanced features and, most importantly, the addition of 23 popular channels to your television line-up.The new programming is scheduled to be available on February 1, 2018.

    NEW MONTHLY RATE
The addition of 23 new channels means an increase in what Eyecom pays the networks for their programming. Additionally, Alaska broadcast stations (KYUR, KTBY, etc.) have raised their rates significantly for 2018.

The new monthly rate for cable television in Unalaska/Dutch Harbor will be $93.30, an increase of $13.35. We understand that this rate increase is considerable but we hope that you will find value in the new selection of news, entertainment and sports programming.

    CONVERTER BOXES
A converter box will be required for each one of your televisions in order to receive the new Eyecom programming. We have two types of converter boxes and each require a monthly fee per box:

Option 1: Standard digital box for $5.95 per month
Option 2: Digital Video Recorder (DVR) for $15.95 per month.

Both boxes include access to 54 free music channels and the DVR boxes have access to six pay-per-view channels. The new converter boxes will eliminate the need for a guide channel as the remote control will have a “guide” button that will access current and upcoming listings.

If you already have a converter box or DVR box from Eyecom you may continue using those boxes after the new service is available. Existing subscribers with a regular converter box will see a price reduction of $3 per month for each box and customers with our DVR box will pay $4 less per month for that same box.

    DON’T MISS A SHOW – Reserve your Converter Box(es)
Eyecom will begin distributing boxes on January 15th at our Unalaska office, 599 E. Broadway. Each box will need to be provisioned for your account so we need to know in advance how many and what type of boxes you are requesting.

To reserve your box(es), email us at customerservice@telalaska.com with your name, account number (if known), phone number and the number of standard or DVR boxes you are requesting. Please note that your account will be charged $5.95 per month per standard box and $15.95 per DVR box beginning with the February 1, 2018 billing cycle. A $30 deposit will be required for each DVR box.

You can also call us with the above information during normal business hours at 1-800-478-3127.

We hope that you are excited about the new cable television line-up and features in Unalaska/Dutch Harbor. We appreciate your business and we welcome your comments. Please call or email us if we can assist you in any way.
